Has Organic Become Another Word For Chemical?

The term organic is starting to become a trend. More and more companies are labeling their products as being natural or deriving from all natural substances. Regardless whether you are someone who wants to play an active role in environmental awareness, you want to protect your face from harsh chemicals, or you have sensitive skin, you should be able to recognize the truth from the fiction that are being placed on labels.

The primary concern of any consumer that is trying to purchase organic skin care products should be that there is no regulation as far as putting organic on a label. Many skin care companies that claim to be organic friendly actually put carbon in the mix of their products. So, how can you tell what your skin care line really has in its ingredients? You should always check the labels before you purchase any organic skin care product.

If you see that a product is organically certified, it means that they have passed regulations of the food and certified organic standards. Make sure that the product you are buying does not contain any pesticides or synthetic products on the label. There are many companies who bet on the fact that the consumer will not take the time to read the label and they will buy their product based on the front title of the product. Do not be lazy and think that reading a label is going to take a long time.

Once you know what to look for, you will be scanning labels left and right in a matter of seconds. Some of the common things to look for on the ingredients listing for organic products are the first four ingredients. The first four ingredients, by law, make up most of the product. You should also beware of products that list water for one of its first ingredients because that will mean that the product is mainly water and little else.

Also, you should check to see if you recognize the words. The key to organic is that it is natural, so if you do not recognize any of the first few words, they are probably synthetic. Lastly, it would not take much time to print out a short list of the most common synthetics and pesticides found in beauty products on your home search engine. You could print out the list, laminate it, and then keep it handy when you are shopping for your beauty regime.

You can also go to the most of all natural extremes and try your own concoctions at home. There is nothing like using a mask of mayonnaise and Vaseline in order to put some moisture into your dry and flaky skin. Witch Hazel mixed with tea tree oil and Aloe Vera will make a great cleanser for the face while drying up any acne that may be lingering.

You can also mix some sea salt and Vaseline for a great exfoliate. I learned a great trick from my great grandmother that has been passed down for generations in my family.

They are a mixture of herbs that are sold in a box at health food stores. You take a couple of tablespoons of the herbs and boil them in a pot of hot water. After they have boiled for a good five minutes, drape a towel over your head and let the steam from the pot open up all of the pores on your face. You will be disgusted and amazed at the stuff that will come out of your dirty pores, and you will have instant results that cost less than any facial. Now that is what you call organic.
