7 Sure-Fire Tips For Unique Christmas Gift Baskets
Christmas gift baskets can be the one solution to all of your holiday buying problems.
Christmas is a huge occasion for millions of people throughout the world. Many people save up money all year long just so they can have enough money to go Christmas shopping. Some people max out their credit cards just to get all of the Christmas gifts they want to buy for family, friends and colleagues.
The problem is whether you save up money or max out your credit cards, you might feel that you are just going Christmas shopping just to get another thing done in your life - like it is simply another errand you must run and complete. Gift buying and giving should not feel like this. It should feel like something more, and the gifts should be special and personal.
Even more, Christmas shouldn’t set you back financially. That takes all of the fun out of it.
The better solution for all of this is to create unique Christmas gift baskets! It won’t look cheap, and your recipients will feel so great and might even ask you where you bought it! And you don’t have to be a craft or arts guru to create your own Christmas baskets. It can be easy, fun, personable, and even less expensive than buying gifts from the store.
When you are creating a Christmas basket, you first need to think about the person you are creating it for.
Everyone has favorites, whether it is colors, a sports team, their career, etc. To begin creating unique gift baskets, you will need essential supplies and a little creativity.
Here is a step by step guide to creating your own Christmas gift baskets:
1. Start with a list of everyone you will be giving gift baskets to, and list their favorite things.
2. Start with the baskets as your first option. Choose one that you think would best suit the person you are giving it to so they can use it for something else after the holidays.
3. You will need some ribbons, fake grass, etc. for filling in the basket. You also want it to spill out on the sides a bit to give it that festive look.
4. Think about what supplies you want to add to each person’s basket and write him or her down on your list.
5. Remember to keep it personal, but simple, too. Don’t frazzle yourself over where you are going to get what, and how much it is going to cost. These Christmas gift baskets are easy to make and less expensive than other Holiday gifts.
6. Don’t stop with just the people on your list. Don’t forget about babies and pets! A new mom or dad would love to have a baby gift basket, and the pet lover in your family would be delighted with a gift basket just for their pet! Just make those gifts a little smaller than the rest, especially if you have a large list and a small budget.
7. You can also do this for gifts at work. Surprise your boss and co-workers with a unique, hand made Christmas basket. If you have a business, get to working on some Christmas gift baskets for your best clients and customers! They will be sure to remember you after that!
Don’t take the fun out of Christmas shopping by going store to store to find those expensive gifts your recipient might not even like anyway. Create your own unique Christmas gift baskets for a fun, easy, affordable, and memorable way to give your Holiday gifts!

Buy Fireworks Online
Buying fireworks online is common nowadays. Just like buying any other product online, it is convenient and saves you time and energy. If you already know what brand and type of fireworks are required, it is quite easy to buy them online. One just needs to log in to the site of the fireworks seller, select the items to be purchased, define their quantities and pay the calculated amount. You can pay through credit card or Paypal. The fireworks can be ordered for wholesale purchase or retail procurement. Lots of times, the online purchase of fireworks comes with special offers like free shipping and quick delivery. To get an idea of how the fireworks will look when burst, lots of sites now have photos and videos of the fireworks for reference.
Even the services of fireworks display companies can be booked online. If you want a fireworks display to be handled by a professional, you can go through the videos of his previous display performances on the Internet, check his credentials and look at the photos of the show before making a decision to hire him. All queries and negotiations can be done online. You may check the references separately.
When buying fireworks online, read the terms and conditions carefully. Ensure that you are paying through a secure payment site. Due to international laws, most fireworks are not shipped outside the country. Within the US, there are some restrictions on shipping to particular states and destinations. Some places allow only a particular type of firework to be shipped. Buying fireworks online also has time limitations. The order takes a few days to reach your place. So it is better to weigh all the options carefully before you place an order online.

Flag Day: History and Party Trivia
The American flag is one of the most recognized symbols of the world. Americans have historically held a great deal of affection for the flag. One such example of the this affection is demonstrated when Flag Day was conceived by George Balch, a New York City kindergarten teacher. Balch had planned an idea of observing Flag Day with appropriate activities and ceremonies for the children of his school on June 14, 1889. Later, Balchs idea was adopted by the State Board of Education of New York. Additional Flag Day celebrations followed including one two years later on June 14, 1891 when the Betsy Ross House held a celebration in Philadelphia and on June 14,1892 when the New York Society of the Sons of the Revolution celebrated Flag Day.
Following these three celebrations, the Pennsylvania Society of Colonial Dames of America adopted a resolution requesting that the Mayor of Philadelphia issue a proclamation asking all citizens to display the U.S. Flag on June 14th and that the day be officially known as Flag Day. Two weeks after the request was made by the Society of Colonial Dames, the Board of Managers Pennsylvania Society of Sons of the Revolution unanimously voted to endorse the action. The efforts of these two organizations resulted in a public Flag Day exercise being held in Independence Square. School children carried flags and sang patriotic songs with political and nationalist addresses being delivered by community leaders.
Local and state celebrations in Pennsylvania, Illinois, and New York continued for thirty years before the Flag Day holiday became recognized at the Federal level as a result of President Woodrow Wilson signing a proclamation that recognized the anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777. Flag Day became a national holiday on August 3, 1949 when President Truman signed an Act of Congress designating that June 14th of each year would be known as National Flag Day.
With Flag Day in the early summer month of June, it is a great time for a barbeque party or family get together. Activities can include crafting patriotic decorations that can be displayed until after Independence Day.

Are You a Victim of Your Own Christmas?
Were coming down to the wire. Hows it feeling to you?
Why do I ask that? Well, whatever youre celebrating, and whatever your religious orientation, Christmas is a celebration, a celebration that for many has a spiritual basis to it. That is, its supposed to be merry, at the least, and meaningful at the most. Whats it for you this year?
There may not be much you can do to put on the brakes now, but note how youre feeling so you can see how its working for you. This has to be tested against the purpose of this celebration, which is personal to each of us, but surely it isnt to be exhausted, stressed, hateful, resentful, materialistic, imprudent, overwhelmed, obligatory, or just going through the motions. If youre feeling the thrill is gone, its time to get mindful. Dont be the victim of your own holiday.
Remember, its all about choice. Intentionality is the EQ competency for the holidays. What do you intend? How do your intend to feel? What do you intend to accomplish?
If you feel like you want to stop the world and get off, take note. When Christmas is over, process.
Ask yourself:
1. What worked and what didn’t? In other words, what make you feel good. Feeling good can be pleasure, joy, but also the feeling of a job well done.
2. What did I do out of obligation, or to keep up with the Joneses that needs to be let go next year?
3. Did I feel the way I wanted to? If not, what will I do differently next year?
4. Take each element and analyze it - - did you really enjoy it, or were you just going through the paces? Was it because weve always done it this way?
5. Is there some traditional that’s outworn it’s welcome? If so, eliminate it. Kiss it goodbye, remembering it fondly, but let it go.
6. Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, or uncle or aunt, there are children around. What kind of example are you setting? If you yell at your kid because you’re stress out over Christmas, ho ho ho?
7. How materialistic were your gifts? How much did you bust your budget? Change this next year.
8. Did you spend time the way you wanted to? Did you spend time with the people you wanted to be with? Whether or not its family, you have a choice.
9. Did you actually have time to enjoy each thing the smells, the touches, the sights, the sounds? Or were you like a hamster on his wheel?
10. What part of the negatives was due to your attitude rather than external events or circumstances? Controlling your mood and emotions with emotional intelligence can add tremendously to your life, not just at Christmas time.
The best gift in life is to be able to learn from your experiences and this is a great time to apply this. If you dont like whats going on, dont be a victim of your own circumstances or attitude. Change one or both!

How to Enjoy Your Favorite Christmas Recipes
Christmas is a time of holiday and festivity. And delicious food is integral part of the celebrations. You relish food and have fun with your friends and relatives. In this excitement you hardly give sufficient attention to how much you should eat. There is a tendency to overeat at odd times and quite often the associated problems follow.
Is it possible to enjoy our favorite Christmas recipes and have a control on our diet at the same time?
The answer is a big YES.
And this is not limited to Christmas time either. But this is a good time to start on the right path.
In our busy and mechanical life we have long forgotten to pay attention to the subtle indications sent out by our bodies. While attending to the necessities of our lives and fulfilling our obligations, we tend to abuse our bodies. The consequences are there to see within us and all around us.
Yet with just a little self-discipline this situation can be greatly improved. I am not suggesting skipping meals or reducing diet forcibly.
Just try these simple tricks and see the difference.
* Feel Good About Yourself Before you start your meals get into a happy state of mind. Now dont tell me it isnt possible. You can always think of something positive and pleasant. The idea is to feel happy. Feeling happy is a habit it is worthwhile cultivating it.
* Be Thankful For Your Food Saying prayers before your meals is one of the best practices created by the civilization. In all situations it may not be possible to go thru this ritual. But the least you can do is to have your meals with gratefulness in your heart.
* Have a Regular Time Schedule For Eating This point cannot be over emphasized. Some discipline in the intake of your food can go a long way in regulating your life. This may be difficult to maintain in the midst of festivity, and that is quite excusable. If you are otherwise disciplined in your eating habits, occasional exceptions can be easily tolerated.
* Dont Eat Hurriedly Dont be in a hurry to devour your food as if it is going to run away. Instead slow down your eating and consciously enjoy the flavor.
* Eat With Full Awareness While you eat give full attention to your eating. Dont make it a casual or a half-hearted effort. This is a commitment you have to make to yourself. In fact this approach bears positive results with any work you undertake.
* Chew Your Food Well Avoid just gulping down your food. By chewing your food properly not only will you enjoy it, you also help your body to assimilate the food better.
* Pay Attention To Indicators Of Your Body While eating listen to your body. It will give you sufficient indication when you have had enough. Eat to your hearts content but avoid overindulgence. If you follow the steps outlined here you will know when it is time to finish your meals.
I will add one more bullet point here have regular physical exercise, or physical movement. It need not be a vigorous routine if you dont want it, but it should be enough to make you feel hungry at the next meal.
The points I have outlined here are nothing new they form a part of age-old formula which also have scientific support. I have not tried to suggest what food you should have that will depend upon lot of factors I am not aware of including your particular situation and physical condition.
But these simple tricks work well with all situations and you can practice it with any other remedial measures you may be taking. They will certainly help you to enjoy your Christmas recipes better.

Make a Candy-Filled Halloween Pumpkin
This Candy-Filled Halloween Pumpkin looks great on your party table, makes a great kids classroom decoration, or you can use it to hold your trick-or-treat candy.
It’s so easy to make!
Here’s all you need:
MATERIALS:
One large pumpkin
Pumpkin carving tools
Black marker
METHOD:
Take your pumpkin carving knife and cut a round hole in the bottom of the pumpkin, NOT the top around the stem as is traditional.
This leaves the stem and entire pumpkin top intact, except for a “trap door” in the bottom by which to insert the candy.
Carefully remove the round trap door, scrape the pulp off it and set it aside.
Scoop all the pulp out of your pumpkin and scrape the sides clean with the scraping tool.
Draw a pumpkin face outline to follow when you carve. Make the eyes and nose high up on the pumpkin, leaving room for a very generous mouth as shown.
When you are satisfied with the pumpkin face you have drawn, carve it out carefully with a pumpkin carving tool , using small sawing strokes. Clean and remove any remaining pulp and strings from the openings.
Fill the pumpkin with assorted wrapped candies and replace the trap door in the bottom.
Your candy filled pumpkin is now ready to display.
View the finished Candy-Filled Pumpkin.

Holiday Crafts - Thanksgiving and Christmas Decoration Ideas
Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday! What a spiritual renewal to take a day to reflect over the past year about just how good God has been to you and your family, to give you harvest and shelter, health and hope. To get the most out of this joyous occasion, make some holiday crafts with your children. These days, Thanksgiving often gets squeezed out by Hallowe’en’s spooky decorations and the lights and gala of Christmas. With the following holiday crafts, your home can be decorated for this quieter but important celebration.
Turkeys are a natural choice for decorations. A familiar project at this time of year is for a child to trace around her hand and make the resulting drawing into a turkey. The thumb is the head and the fingers are the tail feathers all displayed. While many of the turkeys that are raised for food are now the domestic white variety, the turkeys eaten by the Pilgrims at the first Thanksgiving were the wild brown ones. The tail feathers on a wild turkey are brown, but they are iridescent. catching light and appearing to be multi-colored. This is why children color the tail feathers in bright colors.
The turkey’s head has a wattle under the beak. This is a vertical flap of loose skin that is red colored. Be sure to draw this in order to make the hand turkey look like a turkey. Add skinny legs and bird feet. When done, the children can cut out the turkeys and hang them on the wall. It’s really cute to make a whole flock of these turkeys in the sizes of all the hands in the family. The little hand shapes are particularly sweet.
Another nice turkey decoration to make when making Thanksgiving holiday crafts is a turkey door decoration. Make a brown construction paper body and head of a turkey. Now make a large number of colored feather shapes. Each family member writes on a feather something he or she is thankful for before attaching as part of the turkey’s tail. Repeat until all the feathers are used, and hang the turkey on the front door to greet visitors with a message of gratitude. Make a sign to accompany the turkey that says “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good!” or simply “Be thankful!” or “We’re thankful for you!” or whatever you like.
Children love making construction paper chains. To further decorate the house for Thanksgiving, let them make a paper chain in fall colors as one of their holiday crafts. Using 9 by 12 inch construction paper, cut the paper in half across the long side and cut the halves into one inch thick six inch long strips. Use a stapler to attach the ends of the strip into a circle. Loop the next strip into the circle and staple it. Continue the process alternating colors of brown, red, yellow, and orange. When the chains are long, you can drap them along the ceiling or stair rail. If you don’t make the door turkey, the children can write something they’re thankful for on each strip of paper before adding it to the chain.
Thanksgiving is too nice a holiday to let the other more commercial holidays crowd it out. By making holiday crafts to decorate the home for Thanksgiving, you can keep this day special, too. The extended family, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc., will be pleased to see the holiday crafts the young ones have made to decorate the house and make it cheerful for their visit.

Holiday Gift Baskets
Holiday gift baskets are a great gift giving option. Gift baskets are versatile and fun to make. You can purchase pre made baskets with anything from chocolate, to wine, fruit and toys. You can create a basket that is appropriate for a child, an adult, a co-worker, etc. Basically, holiday gift baskets are a fun way to handle your holiday shopping. Mini gift baskets also make great holiday party favors. If you opt to make your own, browse craft stores, craft fairs and thrift stores for fun containers. For example, an old metal pail makes a fun container for a holiday gift basket for the gardener on your list. Fill it with garden tools, gardening gloves and seeds for a meaningful gift. Other containers can include baskets, wooden containers, old hat boxes, etc. You can be as creative or as standard as you want.
Once you find containers for your holiday gift baskets, youll want to find items that will be appropriate. Items to consider include wine, chocolate, lotions and toys. But, dont limit yourself to those items. You can create a gift basket filled with tools, auto parts, fishing supplies and even computer supplies. The best holiday gift basket is one that is meaningful to the receiver.
There are a lot of companies who offer holiday gift baskets. You can find them in any department store. You can also order them from flower shops or from online companies. Card stores also have gift baskets, and you can even shop at craft fairs to find baskets.
Just remember that sometimes the simplest gift is the most meaningful. A gift basket doesnt have to be elaborate. If you find a holiday gift basket filled with items that perfectly capture the recipients personality, you definitely gave a special gift.
